Military cooperation between the two countries reached its peak during the 44-day Patriotic War, according to Caliber.Az.
Actively using the products of the Turkish defence industry in this process, Azerbaijan continues to work on modernising its army even after the liberation of the occupied lands.
On this occasion, National Defence Minister Yashar Güler met with Azerbaijani presidential aide Khalid Ahadov. The meeting was also attended by the head of the Defence Industry Directorate Haluk Görgün and Deputy Minister Jalal Sami Tufekçi. The meeting took place almost a month after President Recep Tayyip Erdogan's visit to Azerbaijan.
According to the information, Khalid Ahadov and the accompanying delegation held a meeting with the heads of Turkish defence industry enterprises and will visit various defence industry enterprises tomorrow.
Cooperation in the defence industry between Türkiye and Azerbaijan has been going on for many years. Currently, Turkish defence industry enterprises play an active role in equipping the Azerbaijani Army with modern defence equipment to replace the old generation of Soviet-made hardware.
AKINCI and Bayraktar TB2 SİHA UAVs, TRLG-230 surface-to-surface multiple launch rocket system, HAKİM air traffic control system, laser guidance kit, cruise guidance kit for combat aircraft, COBRA tactical wheeled armoured vehicle, BORA-12 sniper rifle and mobile satellite terminal are just some of the products of Turkish defence industry used by the Azerbaijani Armed Forces, according to open sources.
