Azerbaijan defence ministry reviews 2025 media, public communication activities Video
The Media and Public Affairs Department of Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Defence held a year-end seminar to review its activities for the current year on December 19, bringing together representatives of the ministry, the Media Development Agency, and local media organisations.
The event began with a tribute to Azerbaijan’s National Leader Heydar Aliyev and to those who lost their lives for the country, followed by the performance of the national anthem. Participants were briefed on activities carried out in line with the Ministry of Defence’s Communication Strategy, approved by Defence Minister Colonel General Zakir Hasanov, Caliber.Az reports per the ministry.
The seminar included presentations on the ministry’s communication efforts, covering media and public relations, responses to citizens’ appeals, measures to ensure public satisfaction, the organisation of the military education system, and admission rules for specialised educational institutions.
Speaking at the event, Colonel Anar Eyvazov, Chief of the Media and Public Affairs Department and Press Secretary of the Ministry of Defence, said that nearly 700 news items were published during the year on the ministry’s official website in Azerbaijani, Russian, and English. He added that more than 1,330 posts were shared on Facebook, over 1,050 on Telegram, more than 1,300 on Instagram, and over 800 on X.
According to the ministry, around 3,200 photographs and more than 240 video materials related to military-patriotic and other events were also published on the official website. In addition, 90 editions of the “Azərbaycan Ordusu” (Azerbaijan Army) newspaper and four editions of its special magazine “Sipər” were released in 2025.
The online Radio “Ordunun Səsi” (Army’s Voice Radio), which broadcasts five days a week, aired 79 live programs during the reporting period. The ministry also responded to nearly 20 media inquiries in Azerbaijani, Russian, and English, reviewed more than 370 filming requests, and provided support for media coverage.
To improve public outreach and media cooperation, the Ministry of Defence organised media tours to various branches of the Azerbaijan Army, as well as to ministry departments, special educational institutions, and military units located in the liberated territories. During these visits, journalists met with servicemen, conducted interviews, and observed service conditions, combat activities, and logistical support.
The seminar also noted that military personnel and civil servants took part in international events during the year to study best practices in communication. Additionally, senior ministry officials continued to receive citizens at least once a month under a scheduled reception system.
According to the ministry, more than 33,600 citizen inquiries were submitted through its official website and email, while over 35,100 inquiries were received via the hotline. All inquiries were reviewed and directed to relevant departments for response.
The event concluded with an emphasis on continuing communication-related activities in a planned manner in 2026, in accordance with the Ministry of Defence’s Communication Strategy.
