Azerbaijan discusses "green" energy zones in liberated lands PHOTO
A regular meeting of the working group on coordination and monitoring in connection with the application of "green" technologies and energy efficiency requirements in the liberated territories of Azerbaijan has been held under the chairmanship of Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov.
In his opening remarks, the minister noted that turning the liberated territories into a "green" energy zone is one of the key directions of reconstruction works carried out under the leadership of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, Caliber.Az reports citing the ministry.
Also, in the context of the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change - COP29, Azerbaijan once again emphasized the importance of steps to increase the use of renewable energy sources.
Under the agenda, a report of the Secretariat on the measures implemented since the last meeting of the working group was heard. The meeting focused on the work carried out in a number of areas, including monitoring in the liberated territories, the introduction of heating systems, the creation of a demonstration pavilion of the "green" energy zone, and the development of a regulatory and technical base for the application of technologies.
