Azerbaijan, Egypt discuss developing tourism cooperation
Chairman of the Azerbaijan State Tourism Agency Fuad Naghiyev and Egyptian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Hisham Mohamed Nagy Abdel Hamid discussed the prospects for developing bilateral relations in the tourism sector.
The sides deliberated about the strategies being implemented, and the current experience of both countries in this sector, Report informs citing the state agency.
During the meeting, Naghiyev provided information on the tourism potential of the liberated territories of Azerbaijan, as well as on ongoing restoration work on historical and cultural heritage sites.
For his part, Abdel Hamid noted that Azerbaijan has a rich tourism potential and can offer Egyptian tourists a variety of tourism products.
The ambassador noted that the opening of direct Baku-Cairo-Baku flights, in addition to flights from Baku to Sharm el-Sheikh, can increase the tourist influx.
The officials also shared views on the preparation of a joint action plan, the exchange of experience in the field of tourism, the strengthening of partnerships between representatives of the tourism industry, and the presentation of the tourism opportunities of the two countries.
