Azerbaijan, International Organization for Migration discuss cooperation
On January 26, Chairman of the State Committee for Refugees and Internally Displaced Persons Rovshan Rzayev discussed issues of cooperation with Vladimir Georgiev, head of the International Organization for Migration (IOM) office in Azerbaijan.
The guest was provided with detailed information about the restoration work carried out in the liberated territories. It was noted that the transformation of Karabakh and Eastern Zangezur into one of the most beautiful regions of Azerbaijan, ensuring the possibility of the return of internally displaced persons to their historical lands is one of the priority areas of state policy, Report informs citing the State Committee.
At the meeting, a detailed discussion of the "First State Program for the Great Return to the liberated territories of the Republic of Azerbaijan" and the tasks facing the State Committee took place.
It was noted that the State Committee took the necessary measures to clarify the number of families who intend to return to these territories, assess their social status and employment opportunities.
Georgiev noted that the implementation of projects to support internally displaced persons is a matter of moral duty.
Other issues of mutual interest were also discussed at the meeting.
