Azerbaijan’s defence minister visits Uzbekistan for “Unity-2025” drills PHOTO

Azerbaijani Defence Minister Colonel General Zakir Hasanov arrived in Uzbekistan's capital Samarkand on October 20 to participate in the Distinguished Visitors Day of the "Unity-2025" (Birlik-2025) joint military exercise.

During the visit, taking place at the invitation of Uzbekistan's Defence Minister Lieutenant General Shukhrat Khalmukhamedov, Colonel General Hasanov held a meeting with his Uzbek counterpart to discuss the current state and future prospects of cooperation between the two countries in military, military-technical, and military-educational fields, Caliber.Az reports per the Defence Ministry.

Both sides emphasised the significance of joint exercises as a platform for sharing experience and strengthening ties.

The meeting was also attended by Azerbaijan's Ambassador to Uzbekistan Huseyn Guliyev. Participants praised the existing level of military cooperation and engaged in a detailed exchange of views aimed at further expanding bilateral collaboration.
