Azerbaijan shines as model of tolerance, multicultural harmony, says presidential aide
Hikmet Hajiyev, Assistant to the President of Azerbaijan and Head of the Foreign Policy Department of the Presidential Administration, emphasised Azerbaijan’s role as a model of inclusivity, tolerance, and multicultural harmony in a post on X on October 18.
According to Caliber.Az, Hajiyev highlighted the recent visit of First Vice-President Mehriban Aliyeva to the Vatican, where she held productive meetings and met with His Holiness Pope Leo XIV. “Azerbaijan — a secular nation with a Muslim-majority population, rich Islamic traditions, and a long history of peaceful coexistence among Muslims, Christians, Jews, and representatives of other faiths — stands today as a shining example of inclusivity, tolerance, and multicultural harmony,” Hajiyev wrote.
He also praised Azerbaijan’s record in women’s empowerment, noting that the country has helped transform the South Caucasus region into a space of peace and stability while advancing a global agenda focused on dialogue, cooperation, and peace.
