Azerbaijan invests over $50 million in Georgian economy in 2023
The foreign direct investments in the Georgian economy reached $1.600 billion in 2023, which is almost 24 per cent less than in 2022.
Most of foreign direct investments were made in the financial and insurance sector - $630.1 million, which is 39.5 per cent of the total investments, $291.7 million were invested in the manufacturing industry while $138.2 million in the transport sector, Azertac reports citing the Georgian business website bm.ge.
The UK invested most of all in Georgia in 2023. During the reporting period, the UK’s investments decreased by 10 per cent and reached $392 million. The Netherlands ranked second with $361 million (an increase of 84 per cent) while Türkiye ranked third with $169 million (an increase of 206 per cent).
Azerbaijan's investments also increased in 2023 and reached $54 million.
