Azerbaijan leads in natural gas exports to Türkiye
The monthly report from Türkiye's Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EPDK) indicates that Azerbaijan exported 3 billion 675.2 million cubic meters of gas to Türkiye between January and April 2024.
This figure marks a 4.6% increase compared to the same period in 2023, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
In April 2024 alone, Azerbaijan exported 1 billion 000.77 million cubic meters of natural gas to Türkiye, a 12.02% increase from April the previous year. This made Azerbaijan the leading natural gas exporter to Türkiye for that month, accounting for 41.8% of Türkiye's total natural gas imports.
Overall, Türkiye's gas imports in April totalled 2 billion 395.25 million cubic meters, reflecting a 39.85% decrease. Of this, pipeline gas constituted 1 billion 958 million cubic meters (81.75% of total imports, down 40.38%), while liquefied natural gas (LNG) made up 437.25 million cubic meters (18.25% of total imports, down 37.37%).
In April, Türkiye's gas supplies came from five countries: Azerbaijan, Russia, and Iran via pipelines, and the USA and Algeria exported LNG.
