Baku, Tokyo deepen ties on clean energy, reconstruction projects Photo
During a visit to Japan, Anar Alakbarov, Assistant to the President of Azerbaijan and the country’s Chief Commissioner for Expo 2025, met with Akihisa Nagashima, Advisor to the Prime Minister of Japan, to discuss future cooperation prospects.
The meeting covered a broad range of Azerbaijani-Japanese collaboration, including various sectors and joint projects, Caliber.Az reports, citing local media.
Nagashima highlighted the rapid development of energy and oil and gas cooperation between the two nations, emphasising the significant potential for partnerships in renewable energy.
He also expressed gratitude for Azerbaijan’s active participation in Expo 2025 in Osaka, praising the national pavilion for showcasing Azerbaijan’s rich cultural heritage.
Alakbarov stressed that the Azerbaijani president places great importance on strengthening ties with Japan. He noted the extensive opportunities for cooperation across multiple fields and spoke about reconstruction and restoration efforts in regions recently liberated from occupation. He also invited Japanese companies to engage actively in these projects.
The meeting underscored the importance of humanitarian and cultural events aimed at deepening friendship between the peoples of Azerbaijan and Japan. It was highlighted that Azerbaijan’s National Day will be celebrated both in Tokyo and Osaka during the Expo.
Notably, the Azerbaijani pavilion has become one of the most visited and ranked among the top ten most beautiful pavilions at Expo Osaka 2025.
