Baku, Tehran agree on allocation of water, energy resources of Aras River Photo
Azerbaijan and Iran have agreed on a schedule for the allocation and joint use of the water and energy resources of the Aras River and signed the corresponding protocol.
The document was signed in Baku at the 54th meeting of the permanent Joint Commission of Azerbaijan and Iran on the use of the water and energy resources of the Aras River, Caliber.Az reports citing the United Water Supply Service of Large Cities (UWSSLC) under the Azerbaijani Water Resources Agency (AWRA).
At the meeting, the parties also discussed a number of issues, including the operating regime of the Aras Reservoir and the distribution of water between the two countries.
It is worth noting that representatives from AWRA, the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of Azerbaijan, and Azərenerji JSC participated in the session.
