Azerbaijan participates in World Turkic Medical Congress in Istanbul

The delegation of the Ministry of Health of Azerbaijan is participating in the World Turkic Medical Congress in Istanbul.

Azerbaijan is represented at the congress by a delegation led by Health Minister Teymur Musayev, Report was told in the press service of the Ministry of Health.

Panel discussions and sessions were held on the first day of the World Turkic Medical Congress, the main theme of which was “Transforming Global Health in the Post-Pandemic Period.”

Deputy Minister of Health of Azerbaijan Rasim Ismayilov spoke at a panel session on the topic "Contribution to cooperation models in the field of sustainable global supply chains", moderated by Turkish professor Hasan Hüseyin Yıldırım. He spoke about the important measures taken by the Azerbaijani state under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev in the field of combating the coronavirus pandemic from the first days of its spread, and also informed about the successful results achieved.

In continuation of his speech, R. Ismailov shared his views on the significant impact of the coronavirus pandemic on the behavior of producers and consumers. According to him, in the current situation, it became necessary to develop new approaches and tools for the smooth functioning of supply chains: with clear pictures. At the same time, supply chain mapping allows for a systematic evaluation of distribution centers, transportation routes, and geographic locations of key markets. When choosing suppliers, one should focus not on minimizing costs, but on minimizing possible risks.”

In parallel with the World Turkic Medical Congress, a business forum and an exhibition of the countries of the Turkic world in the field of healthcare are being held.

Tomorrow, within the framework of the Congress, a meeting of the Ministers of Health of the Member States and observers of the UTC will take place, during which discussions will be held on cooperation in the field of healthcare, on the implementation of joint projects and other key issues on the agenda. In addition, the meeting of health ministers will determine the country in which the next congress will be held.

At the end, there will be an award ceremony named after the world-famous scientist, Nobel Prize winner, Professor Aziz Sanjar.

It should be noted that within the framework of the visit, the speech of the Minister of Health of Azerbaijan Teymur Musayev is expected at the meeting of the Ministers of Health of the member states and observers of the OTS (Organization of Turkic States). In addition, it is planned to hold bilateral meetings with the ministers of health of the member countries, as well as a meeting with Azerbaijani doctors working in the brotherly country.

The World Turkic Medical Congress will complete its work on October 31.
