Azerbaijan raises minimum pension, salary

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has signed an order "On additional measures to improve the social welfare of the population".

According to the document signed by the president on January 5, the Cabinet of Ministers was instructed to submit proposals to the president on bringing the minimum pension to 280 manats ($164) within 10 days, as well as to submit proposals to the president on increasing social benefits and pensions,  Caliber.Az reports citing the information on the official presidential website.

Moreover, according to the document, the minimum monthly salary has been set at 345 manats ($202) since January 1, 2023.

The minimum salary has so far stood at 300 manats ($176) in Azerbaijan.
