Azerbaijan’s ambassador meets national sumo team in Japan

Azerbaijan’s Ambassador to Japan, Farid Talibov, has met with the Japanese national sumo team, which is holding a training camp at Asahigaoka Sumo School and Nihon University, the Azerbaijan Association of Japanese Martial Arts and Culture has said.

It noted that Talibov familiarised himself with the team’s training process and wished the athletes success at the World Sumo Championships, Caliber.Az reports, citing local media.

The ambassador also expressed confidence that the Azerbaijani team would achieve strong results at the upcoming competition.

The championships will be held in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan, on October 17–18.
