Azerbaijan’s economy grows by 7 per cent
From January to April 2022, Azerbaijan's GDP was 39.5 million manats ($23.2 million), or 7.2 per cent more than in the same period in 2021.
According to the data, added value in the oil and gas sector increased by 0.2 percent over the past year, while added value in the non-oil sector increased by 11.4 per cent, the Azerbaijani State Statistics Committee told Report.
Some 54.8 per cent of GDP accounts for industry, 7.7 per cent - for trade, repair of vehicles, 6 per cent - for transport and storage, 4 per cent - for construction, 2.4 percent - for agriculture, forestry economy, and fisheries, 1.4 per cent - for information and communication, 1.3 percent - for tourist accommodation and catering, 14.5 percent - for other industries. Net taxes on goods and imports amounted to 7.9 per cent of GDP.
