AZPROMO, UK's Oliver Wyman discuss investment opportunities in Azerbaijan
Azerbaijan’s Export and Investment Promotion Agency (AZPROMO) and UK-based consultancy Oliver Wyman have held talks in London focused on boosting direct investment in the South Caucasus nation.
The meeting, organised by AZPROMO, forms part of broader efforts to implement Azerbaijan’s economic development agenda, Caliber.Az reports.
"Discussions covered a range of topics, including the promotion of foreign direct investment (FDI), the expansion of agricultural exports, and the exploration of new trade opportunities," AZPROMO said.
To recall, Azerbaijan’s Export and Investment Promotion Agency (AZPROMO) is ramping up efforts to attract foreign investment and boost non-oil exports as part of the Azerbaijan’s broader economic diversification drive.
Operating under a "single window" model since its reorganisation in 2021, AZPROMO supports international investors and exporters with streamlined services, market intelligence, and regulatory guidance. Its focus includes promoting Azerbaijani products abroad, forging global business ties, and highlighting investment opportunities through trade forums.
For instance, in Q1 2025, trade turnover with Belarus exceeded $100 million, with Azerbaijani exports up 82% to $18 million. Industrial ties deepened with collaboration between the Ganja Automobile Plant and the Minsk Tractor Plant.
AZPROMO is also organising a business delegation to Spain by year-end to explore investment opportunities and expand trade links. Additionally, it plans to introduce logistics subsidies to enhance the Middle Corridor, positioning Azerbaijan as a strategic regional transit hub.
