Public sector auditing in focus at Azerbaijan–Georgia bilateral meeting
Representatives of the supreme audit institutions of Azerbaijan and Georgia convened in the Georgian capital for a working meeting aimed at strengthening bilateral cooperation and enhancing the exchange of professional expertise in public sector auditing.
The Azerbaijani delegation, led by Vugar Gulmammadov, Chairman of the Chamber of Accounts, engaged in discussions with their Georgian counterparts on a range of strategic and technical matters, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
The Georgian side presented an overview of its current strategic development framework for 2023–2027. The presentation included insights into its methodology for auditing consolidated government financial statements, approaches to performance auditing, and implementation of quality management systems in audit processes.
In turn, the Azerbaijani delegation shared key aspects of its own strategic plan covering the period from 2021 to 2025. Particular attention was given to Azerbaijan’s experience in auditing tax revenues, its involvement in the international ClimateScanner initiative, and the country's broader engagements in global audit cooperation platforms.
Both parties underscored the critical importance of reinforcing institutional capacity and continuing to foster collaboration in the field of public sector auditing.
