Azerbaijan, China’s EPPEI may develop energy grid roadmap
Joint research conducted by Azerbaijan and China’s Electric Power Planning and Engineering Institute (EPPEI) will help develop a roadmap for the country’s energy infrastructure, Fuad Mushtagov, Head of the Hydrogen and Green Technologies Department at the Azerbaijan Renewable Energy Agency, has said.
Speaking during a webinar titled Infrastructure Development, E-Mobility and Renewable Energy Storage Solutions in Azerbaijan, he recalled that Azerbaijan and EPPEI signed an agreement on April 6 this year to conduct a comprehensive analysis of the country’s power grid, Caliber.Az reports, citing local media.
“Two key modeling tools were applied within the framework of the study: PLEXOS for generation modeling and economic dispatching, and DIgSILENT PowerFactory for assessing static and dynamic grid stability. The study incorporates 22 different scenarios. The expected output will be a detailed grid development roadmap, which will also help identify optimal connection points and prospective grid reinforcement needs,” Mushtagov noted.
