Azerbaijan ranks 7th among Belarus' top export partners in 2024
Azerbaijan rose to become the seventh most significant export partner of Belarus in 2024, according to Mikhail Myatlikov, head of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Speaking on May 5 at the Azerbaijan-Belarus business forum, Myatlikov highlighted the growth in bilateral economic ties, stating that trade turnover between the two countries increased by 46% over the past year, Caliber.Az reports.
"Exports from Belarus to Azerbaijan grew by 44%, while imports from Azerbaijan to Belarus surged by 73%," he said.
This upward trend has also impacted Azerbaijan’s ranking among Belarus’ trading partners. "Azerbaijan moved up from 13th to 11th place in terms of overall trade volume and secured the 7th position in the list of Belarus’ key export destinations," Myatlikov noted.
The Belarusian official emphasised the growing diversity of trade between the two countries. He pointed to a marked rise in Belarusian exports of meat and dairy products, petroleum products, and timber to Azerbaijan. “This clearly shows that the business communities of both countries continue to actively explore and develop new market niches,” Myatlikov added.
