The talks, which included both one-on-one and extended formats, focused on enhancing bilateral relations and exploring broader cooperation on international platforms, Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs told Caliber.Az.

The discussions underscored the solid foundation of Azerbaijan–Slovenia relations, which are built on principles of friendship, mutual respect, and mutually beneficial cooperation. Particular attention was drawn to documents signed in 2023 between Azerbaijan’s state oil company SOCAR and Slovenia’s Geoplin, as well as intergovernmental agreements on natural gas and broader energy cooperation. The ministers also discussed the significance of infrastructure projects in Azerbaijan’s Karabakh and East Zangazur regions, including reconstruction efforts and the strategic potential of the Alat Free Economic Zone and international transport corridors.

FM Bayramov briefed his Slovenian counterpart on the evolving post-conflict dynamics in the South Caucasus, highlighting Azerbaijan’s efforts in demining, reconstruction, and the return of internally displaced persons (IDPs) to liberated territories. He also addressed ongoing peace negotiations with Armenia, pointing to obstacles such as the Armenian Constitution’s territorial claims against Azerbaijan and the continued reference to outdated structures like the OSCE Minsk Group.

In addition to bilateral matters, the ministers discussed the prospects for enhanced coordination within multilateral organisations and joint efforts on global issues.

The meeting concluded with a joint press conference, where both ministers reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening ties and contributing to regional and international stability.
