Azerbaijan-Slovenia dialogue at NATO focuses on regional and energy cooperation
In a move highlighting Azerbaijan's growing importance on the international stage, representatives from Azerbaijan and Slovenia held discussions at NATO headquarters, focusing on Baku’s pivotal contribution to energy security for NATO allies and partners.
Jafar Huseynzadeh, Head of Azerbaijan’s Mission to NATO, met with his Slovenian counterpart, Andrej Benedejcic, for what he described as a "productive exchange" on a broad array of issues.
Sharing the details on social media platform X, Huseynzadeh emphasized the depth of the conversation, per Caliber.Az.
"I was pleased to meet with Ambassador Andrej Benedejcic, Slovenia's permanent representative to NATO, and exchange views on a wide range of issues," the Azerbaijani diplomat stated.
At the heart of the discussion was Azerbaijan’s active role in the NATO Partnership for Peace program. The dialogue also underscored Baku’s significant contributions to energy security, particularly in ensuring a stable energy supply to NATO member states and partners — a strategic priority for the alliance amidst shifting geopolitical challenges.
Beyond energy cooperation, the diplomats explored bilateral relations between Slovenia and Azerbaijan, reflecting on opportunities for enhanced collaboration. Current regional developments also featured prominently in their dialogue, aligning both nations on shared goals and priorities.
