Azerbaijan strikes back following Armenian gunfire on Nakhchivan positions
The Armenian armed forces fired upon Azerbaijan Army positions in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic.
On September 11, 2024, at approximately 10:50 a.m., Azerbaijani military positions in the Heydarabad settlement of the Sadarak district within the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic were subjected to small arms fire by Armenian Armed Forces units, Azerbaijani Defence Ministry said in a statement, as per Caliber.Az.
These Armenian units were stationed in positions across from the Azerbaijani forces.
The Azerbaijani Ministry of Defence reported that the Azerbaijani forces responded promptly with appropriate retaliatory measures to address the attack.
Previously, on September 5, 2024, at around 09:55 a.m., Armenian units from the Yukhari Zagali settlement in the Basarkechar district initiated small-arms fire at Azerbaijani Army positions located in the direction of the Zivel settlement in the Kalbajar district. The Ministry of Defence stated that Azerbaijani forces also responded with suitable measures to this provocation.
