Azerbaijan, Iran hold high-stakes talks South Caucasus on Agenda
Azerbaijan's Deputy Prime Minister, Shahin Mustafayev, held a meeting with the Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council, Ali Akbar Ahmadian, during his visit to Tehran.
The discussions centred on the development of bilateral relations and recent developments in the South Caucasus region, Caliber.Az reports per local media.
To recall, on January 21, President of Iran Masoud Pezeshkian, received the Azerbaijani delegation led by Deputy Prime Minister Shahin Mustafayev.
The current state and future prospects of Azerbaijani-Iranian relations were the focus of a meeting.
Discussions emphasized expanding cooperation in vital sectors, including the economy, transportation, energy, trade, investment, and humanitarian efforts. Both sides stressed the importance of continuing joint projects and shared perspectives on regional issues and mutual interests.
Mustafayev is visiting Iran to participate in the 16th session of the Joint Interstate Commission on Economic, Trade, and Humanitarian Cooperation. This follows the 15th session held in Baku on March 11, co-chaired by Mustafayev and Iran’s Minister of Roads and Urban Development, Rostam Ghasemi, with contributions from various officials.
