Baku, Moscow discuss cooperation on counter-terrorism, migration management
Azerbaijan's Ambassador to Russia Rahman Mustafayev and Russia's Interior Minister Vladimir Kolokoltsev have convened a meeting to discuss the relevant issues of cooperation between the two countries in the law enforcement sphere.
During the meeting, both sides expressed satisfaction with the progress of collaboration in combating international terrorism and extremism, transnational organized crime, drug trafficking, Caliber.Az reports via local media,
Mustafayev and Kolokoltsev also elaborated on border security matters.
They also emphasized the importance of coordinating efforts between the two nations in the migration sphere.
It is essential to point out that Azerbaijan actively participates in international counter-terrorism efforts, collaborating with various countries, including Russia, to combat global threats. The State Security Service (SSS) of Azerbaijan cooperates with 77 intelligence, security, and law enforcement agencies from 51 countries.
Notably, the SSS is a member of the Council of Heads of Intelligence Services and Security Bodies of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), which includes Russia. This membership facilitates coordinated activities against terrorism, economic crime, and cybercrime, contributing to regional security.
