Azerbaijan's FM, Ambassador express condolences to fraternal Türkiye following fatal ski resort fire
The Embassy of Azerbaijan in Ankara has lowered its flag to half-mast to commemorate the victims of the tragic Kartalkaya Ski Resort fire which claimed the lives of 76 people on January 21.
Azerbaijani Ambassador Rashad Mammadov has expressed his condolences via his official X account, as Caliber.Az reports, stating:
"As a sign of solidarity with brotherly Türkiye, we have lowered our flags during the one-day national mourning declared in connection with the tragic loss of lives in the fire at a hotel in the Kartalkaya ski resort in Bolu.
Once again, we extend our condolences to the families and loved ones of the victims and to the Turkish nation. May Allah grant them eternal peace."
Meanwhile, Azerbaijan's Foreign Minister, Jeyhun Bayramov, has also extended a message of sympathy and condolences to his Turkish counterpart, Minister Hakan Fidan, and offered to assist in any way needed.
To recall, devastating fire engulfed an 11-story hotel in Türkiye’s Bolu province in the northwest of the country in the early hours on January 21. According to authorities, a total of 76 people have been found dead so far, including many children, with dozens more injured.
