Azerbaijan ships diesel to Armenia, facilitates Russia transit cargo Updated

Eight railcars carrying a total of 479 tons of diesel fuel have been dispatched from Azerbaijan to Armenia, according to Azerbaijan Railways CJSC.

The shipment was confirmed in a statement provided to Report, which said the fuel transport was carried out as part of ongoing rail deliveries between the two countries.

In addition, Azerbaijani railway authorities said a separate transit shipment from Russia to Armenia was also conducted on the same day via Azerbaijani territory. The cargo consisted of six railcars carrying 402 tons of fertiliser, which were sent from the Balajary station toward Buyuk Kesik.

Azerbaijan is set to export another shipment of oil products to Armenia on May 9, according to Azerbaijan Railways (ADY).

The company noted that the latest delivery includes eight railway wagons carrying 479 tons of diesel fuel, Caliber.Az reports per local media. 

To date, Azerbaijan has exported more than 8,500 tons of diesel, along with 979 tons of RON 92 gasoline and 2,955 tons of RON 95 gasoline to Armenia.

In addition to fuel exports, Azerbaijan Railways said a separate transit shipment from Russia to Armenia will be transported via Azerbaijani territory on the same day. The cargo includes six wagons carrying 402 tons of fertiliser, which will depart from the Bilajari station toward Boyuk Kasik.

According to the data provided, Azerbaijan has already facilitated the transit of more than 27,000 tons of grain, 4,000 tons of fertiliser, 133 tons of aluminum, and 68 tons of buckwheat from Russia to Armenia using its railway infrastructure.
