Azerbaijani Defence Ministry denies Armenia's disinformation on alleged ceasefire breach
The Azerbaijani Defence Ministry has denied Armenia’s alleged ceasefire breach allegations.
“We categorically refute the information disseminated by the Armenian side that the units of the Azerbaijani army allegedly opened fire on the metallurgical plant in the direction of Arazdayan and wounded two people,” the ministry said in a statement, Caliber.Az reports.
On June 14, the Armenian Defence Ministry said that two foreign nationals were injured after Azerbaijani forces opened fire on a metallurgical plant under construction in the Armenian border village of Yeraskh.
Earlier, the Azerbaijani Defence Ministry reported that starting 10:00 on June 14, the Armenian Armed Forces units from positions located in the direction of the Vedi district’s Arazdayan village resumed intensive shelling of Azerbaijani army positions located in the direction of the Sadarak district’s Heydarabad settlement in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, using weapons of various calibres.
"The Azerbaijani Armed Forces are taking retaliatory measures. The operational situation is under the control of our units," Caliber.Az reports, citing the Azerbaijani Defence Ministry.
Armenia's armed forces and its illegal armed groups in Azerbaijan's internationally recognised Karabakh region continue to shell Azerbaijani positions against the background of a tight series of talks and meetings attended by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan in various locations, which aim to normalise Baku-Yerevan relations.
