Azerbaijani Greco-Roman wrestler wins second gold medal in Zagreb
The first ranking wrestling tournament of the year, Zagreb Open, is coming to an end in Zagreb, Croatia.
Greco-Roman wrestlers took to the carpet on the fifth and last day of the tournament. Azerbaijan is represented by Nihat Mammadli (60 kg), Ulvi Ganizade (72 kg), Murad Ahmadiyev, Murat Lokyayev (both - 97 kg), Beka Kandelaki and Sabah Shariati (both - 130 kg), according to azerisport.com.
With three victories, Ganizade reached the final, where he also took the upper hand and won gold.
Ahmadiyev lost in the semifinals and will compete for bronze. Kandelaki lost in the quarterfinals, but his opponent reached the final and Beka got a chance to compete for third place. He won the repechage bout and will challenge for bronze.
Mammadli, Lokyaev and Shariati lost at the start and finished their performances.
Azerbaijan's wrestlers won 6 (1-0-5) awards during the previous days of the tournament.
