Azerbaijani judoka takes European youth gold after final victory

Azerbaijani judoka Aykhan Mirzazada has won the gold medal at the European Youth Judo Championships in Podgorica, Montenegro.

Mirzazada triumphed in the 60-kilogram weight category, defeating France’s Lucien Tixier in the final to secure first place on the podium, Caliber.Az reports via local media.

Azerbaijan is represented by 14 judokas across 10 weight categories at the continental championships.

Two more Azerbaijani athletes are set to compete today. Mahammad Musayev will contest the gold medal in the 66-kilogram category, while Khadija Gadashova will battle for bronze in the 57-kilogram division.
