Formula 1 confirms dates for 2027 Azerbaijan Grand Prix

The 2027 Azerbaijan Grand Prix will take place from September 24 to 26, with Formula 1 and the Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA) confirming the dates as part of the 2027 Formula 1 World Championship calendar approved by the World Motor Sport Council.

According to Azerbaijani news agency Report, citing the Baku City Circuit, Azerbaijan will host the race on the same dates as in 2026.

The 2027 Formula 1 season will open with the Bahrain Grand Prix on March 12–14 and conclude with the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix in the United Arab Emirates on December 10–12.

The championship will feature 24 rounds across 22 countries. The number of sprint races will rise from six to 10 in 2027, while the first official pre-season testing is scheduled for February 24–27 at Bahrain’s Sakhir circuit.

FIA President Mohammed Ben Sulayem said the calendar reflects Formula 1’s growing popularity.

He said the 24 Grands Prix across five continents, the return of Portugal and Türkiye to the calendar and the increase in sprint races combine tradition, innovation and fan interest.

Formula 1 President and CEO Stefano Domenicali said the return of Portugal and Türkiye, together with the increase in sprint races to 10, would make the 2027 season even more action-packed.

The Azerbaijan Grand Prix will therefore be held on September 24–26 in both 2026 and 2027.
