Azerbaijani karateka wins another world champion title
Azerbaijani karate fighter Rafael Aghayev has won the World Fighting League title by winning Karate Combat.
He won the fight for the welterweight champion belt against American kickboxer Raymond Daniels, according to Blackbeltmag.
Aghayev defeated his opponent by the decision of the judges.
The fight in the final tournament of the league season took place in the US city of Orlando on December 17 (GMT-5).
Aghayev, who previously won three Karate Combat fights, said after the match, that "I worked very hard for this victory. I dedicate this victory to my mother and to Azerbaijan. Thanks to everyone. I have achieved my dream".
Rafael Aghayev is a five-time World Sport Karate champion, eleven-time European Champion in his discipline and silver medalist of the 2020 Olympics.
