On January 19-21, a delegation headed by Prosecutor General Kamran Aliyev was on a working visit to the Kingdom of the Netherlands, according to Report.
During the visit, a meeting was held with the Director General of the International Commission on Missing Persons (ICMP) Katherine Bomberger.
Kamran Aliyev said that during the First and Second Karabakh Wars, 3,896 Azerbaijanis went missing, many of whom were tortured, killed, and mass-buried.
He went on to add Armenia takes an unconstructive position on this issue, noting that a small number of remains have been transferred to Azerbaijan over the past period. Considering the best practices of the ICMP in the identification of remains, the importance of cooperation in this area was emphasized.
A meeting was also held with the President of the European Union agency for cooperation in criminal justice (Eurojust) Ladislav Hamran as part of Aliyev's visit.
The head of Eurojust noted that the bodies of the European Union in the fight against crime, in particular, Eurojust, are interested in expanding cooperation with the prosecution authorities of our country.
For his part, Aliyev said the development of cooperation with Eurojust is of particular importance in terms of expanding international relations, which are an integral part of the reforms. Given that Eurojust serves as a bridge between more than 70 countries in the fight against various manifestations of organized crime, an agreement was reached on close cooperation with this structure in the future.
