Azerbaijani servicemen complete harsh winter survival course in Türkiye
Three members of Azerbaijan’s Air Force participated in rescue training exercises held in Erzurum, Türkiye, focusing on operations in severe winter conditions.
According to information provided by the Ministry of Defence to Caliber.Az, the drills were aimed at improving personnel’s ability to operate effectively in harsh climatic environments.
During the training, the Azerbaijani servicemen successfully completed a course entitled “Winter Mountaineering, Survival and Evacuation of the Wounded in Harsh Winter Conditions.” The programme included practical exercises such as moving through snow-covered mountainous areas, surviving in extreme weather, delivering first medical assistance to injured individuals, and ensuring their safe evacuation.
The ministry noted that such advanced training programmes help strengthen the professional readiness of military personnel in tough climates and challenging terrain, increase the speed and effectiveness of search-and-rescue operations, and further enhance servicemen’s knowledge and skills through international experience.
