Baku court exposes Armenian shelling of Shusha villages in 1991 And massacre of civilians in Khojavand
On September 22, the criminal trial of Armenian citizens accused in Azerbaijan continued at the Baku Military Court with the reading of case documents.
One of the documents presented concerned the intensive shelling with heavy and light weapons of the villages of Malibayli and Gushchular in the Shusha district in February 1992, as well as an attack on both villages involving heavy military equipment, Caliber.Az reports, citing local media.
As a result of these events, 12 people were killed and three went missing in Malibayli, while four people were killed and nine taken hostage in Gushchular.
Another document examined during the hearing related to the shooting of a LAZ bus in the Khojavand district on September 8, 1991, near the farm of the village of Kish. According to the case files, Armenian forces opened fire on the bus with automatic weapons, killing seven people on the spot and injuring 27 others.
The trial of Armenian citizens accused of crimes against peace and humanity, resulting from Armenia’s military aggression, continues. The charges include war crimes, preparation and conduct of aggressive war, genocide, violations of the laws and customs of war, terrorism, financing of terrorism, violent seizure and retention of power, and numerous other offences.
