Baku ready for cooperation in Azerbaijan-Georgia-Armenia format President Aliyev's statement
On April 27, Azerbaijan’s President Ilham Aliyev received the Foreign Minister of Georgia, Ilia Darchiashvili, who is on an official visit to Baku.
Caliber.Az reports, citing the president’s official website, that President Aliyev said the friendly relations established between Azerbaijan and Georgia over the past 30 years were an important factor in regional stability and cooperation.
As for the economic cooperation, the Azerbaijani president has particularly highlighted the new opportunities in the transportation field.
Azerbaijan and Georgia have common views on developing the South Caucasus region and there are good opportunities for interactions in a trilateral format between Azerbaijan, Georgia, and Armenia, particularly in the post-conflict period, and Azerbaijan is ready for such cooperation, according to President Aliyev.
He added that Georgia also shared this position and expressed his hope that Armenia also understood that this was the only way to establish stability and security in the region.
