Bild: NATO draws up war plan for potential conflict with Russia
NATO has developed specific plans for a potential armed conflict with Russia under a framework known as the NATO Land Warfighting Concept, German newspaper Bild reports, citing sources.
The concept was developed under the leadership of US Major Andrew Pingrey. At the initial stage of a conflict, NATO would focus on countering fighter jets, missiles and drones, including by carrying out strikes primarily against targets in Russia’s Kaliningrad Region.
At the same time, the plans envisage establishing an “autonomous zone” along the borders with Belarus and Russia in the event of a conflict, where only drones and autonomous military equipment would operate.
As a next step, according to the plans, NATO would strike military facilities and supply hubs inside Russia, including airfields, military factories, bridges and railway stations. The alliance intends to deploy drones and robots deep into Russian territory by air.
Bild noted that what stands out is that NATO is not keeping its plans secret.
