Body of pilot from crashed An-22 found in Russia's Ivanovo region VIDEO
The body of a man believed to be a crew member of a Russian Ministry of Defence An-22 aircraft that crashed in December 2025 has reportedly been discovered in the Ivanovo region.
According to the local public page “Local. Ivanovo,” the body was found in the waters of the Uvod Reservoir near the village of Ivankovo. “In the waters of the Uvod Reservoir near the village of Ivankovo, the body of a man in a flight uniform has been found. It is possible that this is one of the pilots who died in the December An-22 crash,” the page reported.
Similar reports were published by another public page, “Caution: Tver,” which cited local residents calling for renewed search efforts. “Local residents are asking to once again organise a search for the deceased Tver pilots,” the statement said.
Earlier, on April 20, kerosene slicks were observed on the surface of the Uvod Reservoir, raising concerns about the crash site.
The An-22 aircraft crashed on December 9, 2025, near Ivankovo. A search and rescue operation continued until March, during which bodies and fragments amounting to approximately “half of the aircraft” were recovered on land. The fate of the remaining crew members has remained unclear.
