Bus carrying Chinese tourists crashes in Russia’s Primorye, killing three
Three people were killed and five others injured after a bus carrying tourists from China was involved in a traffic accident in Russia’s Primorsky Krai, according to the regional prosecutor’s office. The deceased includes the bus driver.
The incident, reported by Russian media, took place on a highway near the village of Barabash in the Khasansky District of Primorye. A total of 14 people were on board the bus at the time of the crash.
Six medical teams were dispatched to the scene to provide assistance to the injured. Authorities have not yet released official information regarding the citizenship of those who were killed or wounded.
The Primorsky Krai Prosecutor’s Office has taken oversight of the investigation into the circumstances of the accident. It will assess compliance with road traffic safety regulations and passenger transportation requirements. In addition, prosecutors will examine the activities of the tourism company that arranged the transportation of the passengers.
