Car ferry crashes into pier, vessel in Istanbul VIDEO

A car ferry operating on Istanbul’s Harem-Sirkeci line collided first with a stationary ferry at Sirkeci Pier before crashing into the pier itself, authorities say.

Police, firefighters, and paramedics were dispatched to the scene, and emergency crews are continuing efforts to secure the vessel and assist any affected passengers, Caliber.Az reports via Turkish media.

The accident was captured on video by a passenger aboard the ferry, providing a firsthand account of the incident.

Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the cause of the collision.
