Caspian littoral states eye alliance of information agencies Deliberations at Astrakhan Media Forum
Addressing the Astrakhan Media Forum, Vice-Governor Pavel Pautov has said that the forum is set to host groundbreaking discussions on a potential Alliance of Information Agencies among the Caspian littoral states.
In his remarks, Mikhail Gusman, First Deputy Director General of TASS, further confirmed that the establishment of this alliance will be a key topic at the forum, aimed at enhancing information exchange and cooperation among the Caspian countries, Caliber.Az reports per local media.
In a notable contribution, Azerbaijan's First Deputy Minister of Culture, Farid Jafarov, showcased the cultural projects funded by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation in the Astrakhan region, including the reconstruction of a school and the creation of a park.
Jafarov also underscored Azerbaijan's ongoing efforts to preserve and promote its cultural heritage, highlighting that 23 elements of Azerbaijani culture are listed as UNESCO intangible heritage, with 9 shared with Caspian littoral nations.
The Deputy Minister emphasized the urgency of preserving cultural heritage in light of natural disasters like rising water levels and floods, which pose significant threats. He called for joint preventive measures to safeguard cultural assets.
Yevgeny Primakov, head of Rossotrudnichestvo, echoed the importance of the forum for fostering cultural dialogue and noted Russia's commitment to providing educational opportunities for Caspian state citizens, including 270 Azerbaijanis who study in Russian universities annually.
The plenary session featured additional remarks from prominent figures.
