Caspian region becomes one of centers of Europe's energy transition Azerbaijani minister says
Azerbaijani Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov has said that the Caspian region is becoming one of the centres of Europe's energy transition.
Shahbazov made the remarks while addressing the round table "Ministers of Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency" organized by the EU and UAE presiding over COP 28, the Azerbaijani Ministry of Energy told Caliber.Az.
According to the minister, the energy potential of renewable energy in the world will triple by 2030.
"By 2027, the integration of 2 QVt of green power into the energy system will increase the share of renewable energy to 33 per cent. As a result, we will be able to reach our target of 30 per cent by 2030 earlier and ahead of schedule. Azerbaijan's renewable energy will also diversify the energy supply to European partners. I believe that the Caspian region is becoming one of the main centres of energy transition in Europe," he added.
It should be noted that 35 countries, 13 companies and organizations were represented at the event.
