South Korean companies in focus for major projects in Azerbaijan’s Alat Free Economic Zone
An Azerbaijani delegation, headed by Valeh Alasgarov, Chairman of the Board of the Alat Free Economic Zone Authority, is currently on a working visit to South Korea.
The information was shared by the Azerbaijani Embassy in South Korea through a social media post on X, per Caliber.Az.
During their visit, the delegation met with Yun Wok Sok, Commissioner of the Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority. The meeting focused on exchanging knowledge, information, and experiences related to the development of free economic zones.
In addition, the delegation held discussions with Kim Gi Hyun, Vice President of the Korea International Trade Association (KITA), and Jihyung Lee, Executive Vice President of the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA). These meetings centred around the potential for involving South Korean companies in the development and realisation of projects in the Alat Free Economic Zone.
The delegation also participated in an event titled "Alat Free Economic Zone: Unlocking the Potential of Korean Manufacturing Companies" in Seoul. The event gathered representatives from South Korean government bodies, business associations, private companies, research institutions, and media outlets.
At the opening of the event, both Valeh Alasgarov and Ramin Hasanov, Azerbaijan’s Ambassador to South Korea, delivered welcome speeches. They emphasised the growing opportunities for South Korean companies to collaborate with Azerbaijan in the development of the Alat Free Economic Zone.
