Azerbaijan, Italy boost economic cooperation in strategic sectors
Azerbaijan’s Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov met with Adolfo Urso, Italy’s Minister of Enterprises and Made in Italy, to discuss strengthening bilateral cooperation in trade, industry, and investment.
During the meeting, the sides emphasized the importance of enhancing economic collaboration within the framework of the longstanding friendship and strategic partnership between Baku and Rome, Caliber.Az reports citing Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Economy.
Minister Jabbarov highlighted Italy’s role as Azerbaijan’s largest trading partner, noting the strong presence of Italian companies operating in the country across various sectors, including industry, transport, construction, trade, and services.
“The development of our economic relations with Italy reflects the mutual trust and growing potential between our two nations,” Jabbarov stated.
In turn, Minister Urso praised the dynamic trade relations and reiterated Italy’s interest in expanding joint ventures and investments in Azerbaijan’s rapidly developing economy.
The discussion also focused on opportunities for deeper cooperation between business communities of both countries and the implementation of new joint investment projects. The ministers agreed that there is considerable untapped potential to broaden bilateral ties in areas such as advanced manufacturing, green energy, and technology transfer.
The meeting concluded with a mutual commitment to continue fostering dialogue and strengthening the economic bridge between Azerbaijan and Italy.
