Chechen leader Kadyrov blames CSTO countries for "leaving Russia alone"
President of Russia’s Chechen Republic Ramzan Kadyrov has sharply criticised the leaders of the member states of the Collective Security Treaty Organisation (CSTO) due to their position on the hostilities in Ukraine.
Kadyrov is convinced that the CSTO is useless to Russia, while Moscow helps everyone and sees no feedback.
“European leaders come to meet [Russian President Vladimir] Putin, hold phone talks, they protect Ukraine’s interests. Why are CSTO member states silent? Why don't you talk about your neighbouring countries? Why don't you try for this war to end? Why do you not have a position against the Nazis, Banderites who killed our ancestors? Everyone fearing sanctions is silent now as if nothing had happened,” Kadyrov said in a message on Telegram.
The Chechen leader reminded that the US sanctions were also imposed on him, but he is not afraid of these restrictions.
Kadyrov added that Russia saved Kazakhstan and Belarus, and played a key role in resolving the conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
“Who helped when Kazakhstan was losing sovereignty? Russia did, and it was not afraid of sanctions. If it is necessary to recognise a state, we don’t care whether you recognise it or not,” the Chechen leader said, adding that Russia would soon achieve positive results in the Donbas region.
