China urges its army to prepare for war

Chinese President Xi Jinping has urged the military personnel to focus on preparing for military operations.

The Chinese army has recently undergone big changes, Xinhua news agency reports referring to Xi Jinping’s speech at a conference on national defence and military reform in Beijing on September 21.

He noted that now the army has a new system, structure and military uniforms.

"It is necessary to conscientiously summarize and apply the successful reform experience, master the new situation and understand the requirements of tasks, focus on preparing for wars, and also have the courage to explore and make innovations," the Chinese leader said.
