Chinese military vehicles spotted in Russia
Chinese military equipment “China Tiger” was spotted for the first time in Russia.
On June 6, Chechen President Ramzan Kadyrov published a video, in which he boasted that the Chechen Akhmat unit had received a new batch of military equipment. Analysts have identified eight Chinese China Tiger armoured vehicles in the footage, RBC-Ukraine reports.
This is the first time Chinese equipment has been seen in the armament of the Russian forces. The Oryx analytical project also confirmed that the Russians received China Tiger vehicles produced by Shaanxi Baoji Special Vehicles.
Journalists note that it is not yet known how the Chinese vehicles got to Russia. It could have happened through third countries or direct supplies, which Beijing was not aware of or could have turned a blind eye to.
These armoured vehicles are based on trucks for better cross-country mobility. The crew consists of two men, capable of carrying up to nine equipped paratroopers. The vehicle is made in China and can go up to 115 km/h, range up to 600 km, and has protection against bullets and debris.
A number of countries in Africa and Central Asia, including Tajikistan arm these vehicles.
Notably, Chinese authorities officially state that they do not supply Russia with weapons and do not provide any military assistance. However, Moscow and Beijing have previously announced an increasing partnership.
In particular, the Western media have proved in investigations that China is helping Russia to produce weapons and equipment. These include parts for military hardware, drones, aviation equipment, and body armour.
