A civilian has been killed and two police officers injured following Russian shelling in Ukraine’s southeastern Zaporizhzhia region, the National Police of Ukraine said.
According to the police statement, Russian forces carried out a large-scale series of attacks on April 26, including multiple rocket launchers, hundreds of artillery strikes, drone deployments, and airstrikes targeting populated areas in the Zaporizhzhia, Vasylivka, and Polohy districts.
In the Tavriya area, guided aerial bombs were used, resulting in the death of a 59-year-old resident.
In a separate incident in Novotavriya, an unmanned aerial vehicle struck near a police vehicle, injuring two officers from a local police unit.
Authorities said the attacks involved intensified use of drones and heavy artillery across several settlements in the region.
