CoE should work to achieve peace between Azerbaijan, Armenia Human rights commissioner says

Council of Europe Commissioner for Human Rights Dunja Mijatović has said that the Council of Europe (CoE) should work on achieving peace between Azerbaijan and Armenia.

Mijatović made the remarks at the winter session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE), which started on January 22, Report informs.

"I recommend the Council of Europe to strengthen its activities to establish peace between the two countries," Mijatović said.

She emphasized that both sides should work to restore peace on the basis of respect for human rights regardless of ethnicity and nationality.

"The activity of international organizations will be effective only if both sides cooperate and work together for peace," she concluded.
