Baku says no reports of Azerbaijani citizens affected in Nepal protests

So far, there is no information about Azerbaijani citizens being among the dead or injured in the recent protests in Nepal, said Aykhan Hajizada, Head of the Press Service of Azerbaijan’s Foreign Ministry, Caliber.Az reports, citing local media.

The protests erupted after the Nepali government blocked 26 social media platforms, including Facebook, X, and YouTube, leading to clashes between demonstrators and police.

At least 22 people were killed and over 500 were injured. Protesters also set fire to the parliament and presidential buildings. Amid the developments, the country’s prime minister has resigned.
