Ukrainian Embassy in Baku salutes donors on Charity Day, prepares aid for conflict-affected youth

On the occasion of International Day of Charity, the Ukrainian Embassy in Azerbaijan publicly extended heartfelt appreciation to all individuals and organizations who contributed generously to a humanitarian aid initiative benefiting Ukrainian children affected by ongoing conflict.

In a statement posted on social media platform Facebook, Yuriy Husyev, Ukraine’s Ambassador to Baku, detailed the embassy’s successful efforts throughout August to collect, organize, and prepare essential supplies for shipment to Ukraine. The donations comprised warm clothing, footwear, and school materials aimed at alleviating the hardships faced by vulnerable youth, Caliber.Az reports.

Ambassador Husyev emphasized that these aid packages are designated for children at the Sumy Regional Center for Social and Psychological Rehabilitation of Children, as well as for minors from internally displaced families originating from conflict-impacted regions including Bakhmut, Pokrovsk, Myrhorod, Kherson, and Sumy. These families have been forcibly uprooted from their homes as a direct consequence of Russian military aggression.

The ambassador further assured that all collected items would be dispatched to Ukraine imminently, underscoring the embassy’s commitment to sustained humanitarian support.

“Together, we do good deeds and help those who need it the most,” Husyev remarked, highlighting the collective spirit and solidarity embodied by the donors.
